It’s amazing how time really flies these days and before you know it; it’s that time of year again. Yes folks, it is finally time for our Annual General Meeting again, where the old committee hand down the torch to the next generation.
As with every society, even the oldest one, the meeting will not commence unless the one third majority is present. In other words, we need your attendance. Please do come and spare some of your precious time for our beloved society. Here are the details for the event this coming Saturday.

Date : Saturday, 25th April 2009

Venue : Lecture Theatre 3, Sir Frederick Mappin Building

Time : 10am – 4pm ( lunch will be provided )

Nomination

i. nominate yourself for any position for the upcoming brand-new committee line up beforehand (via email) or on the day of the AGM itself (verbally), to be contested during AGM (provided that you are graduating no earlier than June 2010)

ii. nominate any member for any position beforehand (via email) or on the day of the AGM itself (verbally), to be contested during AGM (provided that he/she will remain as student of University of Sheffield up till June 2010)

iii. alter the Constitution should you find it appropriate and timely to do so, in which all Motions will be passed to the Motion Committee for discussion beforehand. This can be done beforehand via email or on the day itself.

(iv) be eligible to vote on the day of AGM.

d. Treasurer

e. Islamic Affairs Officer

f. Sports Officer

g. Women’s Officer

h. Welfare & Careers Officer

i. Media Officer

j. Special Task Officer

* General Secretary will be determined by the elected President

Like previous years, we are expecting a lively and entertaining Annual General Meeting with all the posts up for grab. Will the next committee be filled by the senior members, or will fresh faces bring changes to SMSA? Be there to witness as the event unfolds!
