Put aside the skeptic thoughts of relating nasheed with turbans and long robes, Akbar brought along the fresh image of a young soul searcher who is looking for the blessing of God.
In Malaysia, Akbar is a promising singer and is idolized by many young teenagers in Malaysia as the pioneer of the alternative genre. Almost all of his songs are infused with fusion rhythms and beats representing all walks of life. His songs, which widely focus on life and human experiences not only deviated from the usual devotedness ballads and familiar pop tunes but yet they are composed in a commercial and catchy way. His interest in hip-hop and rap has made Akbar chose the path of rapper and this fact is obvious throughout most of his songs.
